AI Processing Disclosure

ChangeGuard uses AI assistance to analyze construction change orders. Here's exactly what that means — and what it doesn't.

What AI does in ChangeGuard

ChangeGuard uses large language models (LLMs) to extract structured data from change order documents — cost line items, markup rates, scope descriptions, dates, and contractor information. AI is also used to assess entitlement arguments and flag cross-change patterns based on your project's data.

What AI does not do

AI does not make final approval decisions. ChangeGuard's output is structured analysis — the decision to approve, negotiate, or reject a change order remains with you and your project team. AI analysis can contain errors and should be verified against the source documents.

Accuracy and limitations

AI document analysis is imperfect. Handwritten notes, non-standard document formats, and complex multi-document submissions may produce less accurate extractions. We display confidence indicators where applicable and recommend verifying key figures against source documents before acting on them.

Data handling with AI providers

Documents processed by ChangeGuard may be transmitted to third-party AI API providers for analysis. We select providers who commit to not using API inputs to train models. Document data is not retained by AI providers beyond the scope of the API transaction. Our Privacy Policy covers data handling in detail.

AI in content

Some educational content on this site was drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a construction professional before publication. AI-assisted content is labeled with a disclosure badge. We do not publish AI-generated content unreviewed.

Feedback and improvement

You can flag analysis errors within the ChangeGuard platform. Flagged items are reviewed by our team to improve processing accuracy over time. You control whether flagged data is used for model improvement.
